Let’s see some of the news around the World Cup 2022.
Reece James confirms he will miss World Cup due to injury
EnglandĀ right-back Reece James has stated that he will not be going to the 2022 World Cup.
Before suffering a knee injury in the Champions League encounter against AC Milan on October 11, the 22-year-old started the Three Lions’ past four games.
James initially declared that “the race against time is on” and pledged to persevere. Still, he has since confirmed, after meeting with manager Gareth Southgate, that he will not be among England’s 26-man team on Thursday.
James wrote on Twitter that he was “devastated.”Ā
“I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight the moment I hurt my knee, but I always felt it was feasible.”
“As a player genuinely believed I could help the team, so I pushed harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best opportunity of going.”
“I recognise that risk involved on both sides, but I was willing to take it. I wish the boys luck. I’ll return shortly. I am sending love to you.”

Bayern Munich provides an update on Sadio Mane’s injury
Sadio Mane will miss this weekend’s match against Schalke 04 due to a right fibula injury, according to Bayern Munich.
The club haven’t, however, confirmed that the forward would miss the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. But has stated that they are currently in contact with the medical staff of the Senegalese Football Association.
According to a club statement on the incident: “The head of Sadio Mane’s right fibula was broken during FC Bayern’s 6-1 victory over Werder Bremen.”Ā
“The match against Schalke on Saturday will be missed by Africa’s Footballer of the Year. In the upcoming days, additional tests will be conducted. Additionally, FC Bayern communicates with the Senegalese Football Association’s medical department.”
Bayern first believed the injury was not significant, and a report from Bild on Tuesday night indicated that it was only a “pinched nerve.”Ā
However, a report from L’Equipe on Wednesday stated that the injury is serious, necessitating the ex-Liverpool player’s absence from the World Cup.

Didier Deschamps, the head coach of France, has chosen a final 25-player roster for the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar, declining to select the maximum number of players permitted: 26.
Two prominent players, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are absent from this tournament due to injuries. While others, such as Camavinga, Tchouameni, Saliba, Konate, and Nkunku, compete in their first World Cup.
With four players selected, Bayern Munich has the clearest club presence in the group. Paris Saint-Germain has merely two players compared to Real Madrid’s three.
