Recent Form

Before heading into this weekend’s premier league clash, both teams have been involved in other matches. Let’s check out the latest results that they have been getting to have more information about their current form.

Manchester City

Recent form in all competition (last five matches): WWWDW

Winning two out of their first three league matches are a pretty decent result for Man City. However, their draw against Tottenham Hotspur means they are still missing their first home win in this new season.

Having that motivation in entertaining their fans, City will put on an aggressive display straight from kick off. Guardiola wouldn’t want to give much breathing space or chances for the visitor this time around.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Recent form in all competition (last five matches) : LWDLW

Winning their opening fixture, Brighton didn’t continue that positive result in their next two league fixtures. Graham Potter’s side were held by West Ham United before losing their latest EPL tie against Southampton.

However, The Seagulls did win their recent Carabao Cup match, beating Briston Rovers 2-1. That win might give a slight morale boost for Potter’s men ahead of their tough travel to Etihad Stadium.

Team News

Manchester City

Injury never seems to stop bother City as they will be without some important names for this weekend tie. Benjamin Mendy, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus won’t be available because of their injuries.

There’s also some doubt regarding John Stones’ fitness, but he might still be available for selection. Guardiola will continue to count on Kevin DeBruyne’s creativity in midfield, Raheem Sterling’s pace and Sergio Aguero’s finishing up front.

Brighton and Hove Albion

The Seagulls also won’t be able to set up their full squad with some players won’t be available. Schelotto, Izquierdo, Bissouma are all injured and most likely won’t make it for the match.

Andone is also out due to suspension, while there’s still some doubt regarding Trystan’s condition. With all of their absentee, Potter set to count on Maupay up front with support from Trossard and Gross.

Head to Head Records:

In their last five meetings in all competition, City have dominated their opponent by winning all of the matchups.

Their most recent matchup happened in the Premier League on May 12, 2019 which Man City won 4-1.

Match Prediction

Man City are set to play their usual aggressive attacking play in search for that first home win this season. Facing Brighton can be tricky, so Guardiola’s men must remain patient and play their normal game.

Potter’s men won’t just give up easily as they are keen on picking up at least a point on Saturday. Man City are clear favorite to take all three points, but they must not underestimate their opponent.

Final Score: 3-0
