Transfer talks: Liverpool’s Enzo Fernandez interest, Barcelona wants N’Golo Kante, and Man United intent to sign striker in January

Let’s see some of the transfer news around the football world.

Liverpool is in contact with Benfica for Enzo Fernandez

Liverpool fans may be watching several midfielders at this year’s World Cup. Enzo Fernandez is a name in which Liverpool may have taken more significant steps toward reaching an agreement on a potential move.

According to Portuguese news outlet Report (via @DaveOCKOP), Liverpool has contacted Benfica about Enzo Fernandez. Additionally, they discuss rumors in Spain of a potential pre-agreement with Liverpool.

The 21-year-old has made five appearances, scored once, and helped Argentina advance to the World Cup semifinals in Qatar by playing effectively in the middle of the field.

Despite only joining Benfica last summer, there have already been numerous rumors connecting various clubsĀ to the player with four and a half years left on his current contract.

Erik Ten Hag confirms Manchester United’s intent to sign striker in January

According to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, the club will attempt to acquire a new striker in January, but only if the correct player becomes available.

To replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the team last month after agreeing to end his contract, the Red Devils may be busy in the winter transfer window.

Although it was the wisest course of action for both sides, United is now lacking in the forward position, which was already severely understaffed compared to other team positions.

Cody Gakpo has been associated with United. The 23-year-old has 13 goals and 17 assists in all competitions at the club level for PSV. He scored three goals in three straight World Cup games.

Today, Ten Hag stated (via the Manchester Evening News): “Yes, I believe United needs to add a forward, but only after we identify the appropriate players. We exert all of our efforts. When a chance arises, we thoroughly investigate it and take action to get in touch with the person.”

Barcelona wants to sign N’Golo Kante

When N’Golo Kante’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, Barcelona wants to acquire him.

Over the previous two seasons, the French international has dealt with many ailments, which has made his role in the Chelsea squad less significant.

When his contract with the Premier League club expires in June 2023, Kante has no shortage of suitors, and it seems likely that he will depart the team. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also want to sign the 31-year-old, in addition to Barcelona.

According to Sport, the star has selected the Catalan club as his ideal destination for his next squad.

Barcelona likes Kante and believes he can take Sergio Busquets’ spot as a top player. He will not be a long-term option for the club, though, as he is only three years younger than Busquets.

Even though both parties want to make a deal, understanding will take a lot of work. Kante makes close to £300,000 a week at Chelsea, a salary Barcelona would seek to cut if he joined significantly.
