Transfer talks: Garnacho close to signing United contract, Messi’s Barca return & Modric contract situation

Let’s see some of the transfer news around the football world.

Garnacho close to signing new Man United contract

According to a report, Alejandro Garnacho is close to ending rumours about his future at Manchester United by agreeing to a new five-year contract.

Erik ten Hag has given him many opportunities to play with the first team. It has helped him have a solid season.

Although his contract with the club has the option to be extended by another year, the Argentinean teenager’s salary is a pitiful Ā£7,000 a week.Ā

Man Utd is eager to reach a new, long-term agreement with the player. They are seeking compensation that reflects his increasing value to the team.

Garnacho has been linked with Real Madrid due to his contract’s uncertainty. The Man Utd starlet is beyond reach for the European champions.

Luka Modric is hoping to earn a new contract at the Bernabeu

Modric’s Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the current campaign, but he has no intention of hanging up his boots just yet.Ā

According to the Croatian international, he is working hard to secure a contract extension at Santiago Bernabeu.

“I’m giving it my all and deserve the chance to stay here, so please give me a chance. There’s no need to rush; the season is only halfway over, and there are still plenty of obstacles to overcome.”Ā

“I’m focused on doing that and returning to my top form; we’ll see what transpires. I’ve always had a great relationship with the club, and that won’t change, so I can’t do anything more,” he remarked.

Barca president Joan Laporta met with Messi’s father to discuss the potential return

According to the Catalan TV show Tot Costa, Lionel Messi’s father and agent, Jorge Messi, has already met with FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta to discuss several topics during the chat.

According to the report, the future of Messi and a potential return to the club were the first topics discussed between the two parties.Ā

This will also depend on a salary reduction made by BarƧa next summer and financial requirements set by La Liga that force the Catalan club to reduce their wage bill.

When asked about the potential Messi return, Xavi said, “The doors are always open for him. I’ve mentioned that before.”Ā

“He is the greatest player in history and will always be accepted. He is a friend, and we stay in touch constantly. What he wants to do and what is appropriate for the club will be factors.”

Sabitzer’s agent lifts the lid on Man United permanent stay

Roger Wittmann, Marcel Sabitzer’s agent, has acknowledged that the Austrian is delighted to play for Manchester United and that the Premier League’s rigours appeal to him.

In an interview with SPORT1, Wittmann stated that after Sabitzer’s loan period, it would be decided whether or not he would stay at the Theatre of Dreams permanently.

“Marcel is an elite athlete. His rapid rise to success is not surprising to me if you had Marcel’s experience level. Whether in the Champions League or through his more than 60 international contests.”

“It doesn’t take long to get your bearings in a team and league like this,” the speaker said.

“He adores the English stoicism! The Premier League was a perfect fit for him from the beginning. He plays with aggression. He makes every effort possible there. That is what is required there.”
