Real Madrid face familiar foes once again in the Champions League. Los Blancos face Liverpool in the round of 16, after beating them in the finals last season. Klopp’s men would want revenge for the second time after already failing to avenge it last season.
Madrid vs Liverpool:
Jurgen Klopp’s crop placed second in Group A behind Italian powerhouses Napoli to set up a reunion with the holders, who beat Celtic, Shakhtar Donetsk and RB Leipzig to first place in Group F.
Liverpool have had a shocking campaign under the German manager this season as they hope to finish in the top 6 spots in the league. They have performed underwhelmingly despite having good transfer windows. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have been running fumes with the lack of squad depth. Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouamei are deemed to miss the first leg due to the injuries as Ancelotti’s men will try to get an advantage in the first leg itself. Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez might miss the crucial clash after suffering from a shoulder injury against Newcastle United.
