RB Leipzig vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Stats and Live Scores

RB Leipzig 3-0 Borussia Monchengladbach Highlights
An unanticipated and awe-inspiring comeback by RB Leipzig secured their top-four spot in the Bundesliga as they overpowered Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0, erasing the memory of a lackluster first-half performance.
Despite their inconsistent form, Borussia Mönchengladbach has performed exceptionally well against top-five teams this season, with only one defeat in seven matches, and they started their match in Leipzig with vigor, as Jonas Hofmann put pressure on Joško Gvardiol, but Florian Neuhaus couldn’t capitalize, and Janis Blaswich saved Marcus Thuram’s close-range shot.
RB Leipzig’s sloppiness persisted throughout the game, yet they managed to escape punishment once again when Marcus Thuram almost scored after stealing the ball from Willi Orbán but missed the target, and despite eventually finding their footing, chances were still scarce, with Emil Forsberg’s header just before halftime being the closest to a goal but went over the bar.
Daniel Farke’s Norwich City side would have been surprised to not be leading at halftime, but they bounced back from their frustration in the second half, earning a penalty within ten minutes, as Jonas Hofmann was tripped by David Raum, and despite the pitchside VAR review that awarded the spot-kick, RB Leipzig’s Janis Blaswich saved Alassane Pléa’s penalty.
Borussia Mönchengladbach paid the price for their lack of finishing as Timo Werner capitalized on Kouadio Koné’s mistake, seizing the ball in their own half and scoring a thunderous strike that found the back of the net off the underside of the bar.
A disastrous outing for Alassane Pléa as he gave away a penalty with a rash sliding challenge on Amadou Haidara after missing one earlier, with Emil Forsberg stepping up to score his fourth consecutive Bundesliga goal, followed by Joško Gvardiol scoring at the back post to help RB Leipzig move into third place, overtaking Union Berlin. Meanwhile, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s poor form on the road continued with their 13th away game without a win, and they also failed to score in their last three matches.
