‘He must find the right condition’ – Inter Milan CEO backs Romelu Lukaku

With a disappointing World Cup campaign, Romelu Lukaku returns back to Inter Milan hoping to reach his true potential. He has been having a series of poor performances ever since he left Inter Milan for Chelsea. Now back in Italy, Inter Mila CEO hopes Lukaku will find his ā€˜right condition’.

Lukaku at Inter Milan:

Lukaku was sidelined for the first half of the season with an injury and his rusty form showed during the World Cup campaign. However, CEO Marotta has backed the Chelsea loanee to rediscover his spark in the final third.

The Inter CEO admits Lukaku must first get back into prime physical condition, though, as he told Sky Italia: “Lukaku loves Inter and we’ve learned it by spending many days with him. We expect something important, he is dealing with a muscle issue, but now he has fully recovered and needs to get back in shape. He must find the right condition.”

Inter president Steven Zhang echoed Marotta’s thoughts and expressed his belief that Lukaku will be a different player in the new year, adding: “It’s football and during games, there are ups and downs. We are confident and sure that he is working hard. He needs no pressure, we wait and we are sure he will give an amazing performance in the second half of the season.”

Inter Milan will need Lukaku firing if they want to fight Napoli and AC Milan for the Serie A title.
