Germany head coach Hansi Flick will continue his job in Die Mannschaft after talks with the German Football Association (DFB).
Despite the Germans’ failure to advance from their group in Qatar, including Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica, the DFB has affirmed that they will support the former Bayern Munich coach.
Their failure to advance to the knockout rounds of the World Cup was the second time in a row.
Following discussions with DFB Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke and President Bernd Neuendorf on Wednesday, Flick, who succeeded Joachim Low in 2021, received the good news.

The announcement comes after a meeting between DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and Hans-Joachim Watzke, vice president of the DFB.
Neuendorf said: “We are all convinced that the 2024 European Championship in our own country represents a great opportunity for football in Germany.”
“Making this tournament a sporting success is our aim. We believe Hansi Flick entirely and his team will complete this challenge.”
“We have decided that before making a personnel choice for Oliver Bierhoff’s successor, we will first talk about the future organization of this area of responsibility within the DFB.”

Flick: We are optimistic about EURO 2024
The former Bayern Munich manager was under pressure after a group-stage exit at the World Cup. There were rumors that he would lose his job, especially with Thomas Tuchel available.
Oliver Bierhoff, the DFB’s sports director, leaving also made things difficult for Flick because the two were good friends. Despite this, the DFB announced that Flick would continue in his position for the time being.
“My coaching staff and I are optimistic about the European Championship in our nation,” Flick said.
“We can do far more as a squad than we demonstrated in Qatar. There was a significant chance we lost. That will teach us some valuable lessons.”
“I have confidence in the shared course that Bernd Neuendorf and Aki Watzke agreed to today. We all want Germany to support its national squad once more at the 2024 home European Championship.”

Flick must find a way to get his team to function
The Flick now has the opportunity to bring balance to his team. They had difficulty maintaining balance in the middle, allowing opponents to attack through their center quickly.
Additionally, there is a right-back issue. Joshua Kimmich is involved with these concerns. Flick started the Bayern midfielder for their last group game at right-back and might do so. He offered tempting opportunities with his teaser deliveries into the box.
Germany will need to find another holding midfielder if Kimmich plays right-back. Germany must also find a center-forward because they need help translating lofty expectations into goals. Before being eliminated, they had the highest xG in the group stage.
Germany’s defense will depend on Nico Schlotterbeck’s ability to recapture his Freiburg form at Borussia Dortmund and carry it over to the national team. Additionally, they will look for advancements from Antonio Rudiger, Niklas Sule, and David Raum.
