Results from Gameweek 10 were very much as we had expected. Liverpool has been the biggest letdown. For FPL managers, the lack of effort from Trent and Salah is a huge problem.
Let’s look at a few low-ownership players who might be crucial in GW-11.
Matheus Nunes (£5.0m, Wolves) vs. Nottingham Forest (H)
This season, the Wolves haven’t exactly dazzled. They have fired a manager with just scored three goals. A new coach for the Black Country team is still being sought after.
But Matheus Nunes is one player who has been playing exceptionally well despite everything. Considering his team’s performance, the new addition has been putting in 8–10 performances practically every time.
Matheus has taken more shots inside the box than any other Wolves player (8). Additionally, it is the fourth-best total in the league for players with £5.0 or less.
He was by far the finest player on the field for them last week against Chelsea and came very close to handing his team the lead.
After that, the four games the Wolves play are all against weak defensive clubs. While Palace and Brentford rank among the bottom ten in terms of goals allowed, Forest and Leicester have two of the league’s most inadequate defenses.
Granit Xhaka (£5.1m, Arsenal) vs. Leeds United (A)
Xhaka, worth only £5.1 million, has played a significant role in the Gunners’ destructive attack this year. Mikel Arteta has given the midfielder a more attacking role in the Arsenal lineup.
He has risen to the challenge by becoming more active and significant in the final third of the field. This season, Xhaka has already contributed two goals and three assists.
Gianluca Scamacca (£6.7m, West Ham) vs Southampton (A)
The Hammers supporters have a new hero to support. The unique number 7 has scored in both of his most recent Premier League contests, aiding West Ham in winning consecutive games for the first time this year.
In the Europa League match, he also scored a game-winning goal. In the last three games in all competitions, the Hammers have gained three points as a direct result of his goals.
The upcoming games for West Ham are promising. Their next four games are against teams with FDR ratings of 2. Liverpool will be the opponent in one of the remaining games.
Roberto Firmino (£8.0m, Liverpool) vs. Man City (H)
The Brazilian’s recent form, which includes six goals and three assists in Liverpool’s last five league games, is impressive. After Sadio Mane’s departure and Salah is still struggling in the Premier League, he has assumed the go-to guy role.
By contributing to two goals and one goal creation in the Reds’ 7-1 UCL triumph over Rangers, Firmino further solidified his spot on the team.
Even if hosting Man City would appear difficult on paper, the Reds cannot be discounted. Firmino must perform at his peak for the Reds to have a chance of winning, and Klopp is aware of this.

Eberechi Eze (£5.5m, Crystal Palace) vs Leicester (A)
Eze has been among Palace’s outstanding players so far this season. Even though Zaha is the talisman and is highly desired by FPL managers, there isn’t much to choose between them.
Even if it appears that Zaha is substantially superior, the difference between the two of them is only 4 points. In addition, one player is £1.7 less expensive than the other. Given the upcoming games the Eagles have, it is worthwhile to consider Eze or even a double-up. Five of Palace’s upcoming six games have FDR ratings of 2.
