Switzerland started their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with a dominant 5-0 win over Belarus, extending their perfect record against them to four matches.
Belarus were denied an early goal by the crossbar, but Switzerland quickly took the lead through Renato Steffen after Cedric Itten’s shot hit the post, making it 1-0 in their Euro 2024 qualifying match at an empty Stadion KaraÄ‘orÄ‘e.
Switzerland, expected to finish on top of Group I, extended their lead with two more goals from Renato Steffen in the 17th and 29th minutes, completing his hat-trick and securing an easy victory over Belarus in their Euro 2024 qualifying match.
Despite a slow start, Switzerland eventually found their rhythm and comfortably defeated Belarus in their opening match of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The visitors dominated the second half, with Granit Xhaka scoring his first international goal in over a year to cap off an impressive performance. Belarus, on the other hand, continue to struggle in competitive matches and their hopes of qualifying for the Euros are dwindling.
