Arsenal had themselves an enjoyable evening at the Emirates over the weekend as they beat Nottingham Forrest 5-0. One of the standout players was Reiss Nelson who scored a brace and assisted one, after coming on for the injured Bukayo Saka.Ā
Nelsonās Performance and Sakaās Injury:
Nelson scored twice in the second half, his first Premier League goal for Arsenal since he scored the winner against Liverpool 837 days ago. Speaking about Nelson after Sundayās win, Arteta said: āI think not only me but all his teammates, all the staff are so happy for him because he is a kid that is really changing, heās really evolving heās really maturing. Heās showing every day how much he wants it and today he had the opportunity, and he did extremely well because it helped us win the game.”
When asked how Nelson has changed during the past couple of years, Arteta added: āHow mature he is, how focused he is in his profession. The way he talks, the way he reflects, the way he respects decisions, the way he is challenging everybody every single day. He is a joy of a kid.ā
Arteta was asked post-match whether the injury would keep the winger out of the World Cup, and was able to give a positive update. “Hopefully not,” he replied. “It was a bad kick that he suffered right at the start of the game, he was limping for a bit. But I don’t see it as anything further than that.”
